MAJOR PROBLEMS FOR MICROSOFT AS OFFICE 365 LEAVES PEOPLE WITHOUT EMAIL AND OTHER CRUCIAL INTERNET SERVICES

Microsoft’s Office 365 left people unable to work or communicate with colleagues, with people totally unable to access their email and other crucial internet services.

People took to social media to complain about intermittent problems which left customers across Europe unable to send or receive emails. The Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account posted that Microsoft was “investigating an issue where users can’t access their mailboxes through multiple protocols.”

The trouble has been particularly frustrating for businesses unable to carry out day-to-day communication, with issues emerging as many people started work this morning.

Microsoft spokeswoman said:
We’re working to resolve difficulties some customers in Europe are experiencing when attempting to access Exchange Online, The exact cause of the problem remains unclear. Microsoft continues to seek a solution. Microsoft believes that the issue is related to a networking configuration and they are currently looking into the issue. 

These types of outages happen on occasion with Microsoft’s cloud services. And while this is not a global outage, it is certainly causing quite a few headaches for customers in Europe.

The incident follows November’s outage of Azure and Office 365 services. That outage affected users who were required to sign in using multifactor authentication.
